Apple Reaches App Store Milestone

Apple announced that its App Store reached its 10 billion application downloads milestone on Saturday.
Apple launched the App Store in mid-2008, which helped drive sales of its iPhone and reshape the way mobile content is delivered.

The store has over 350,000 applications, and there are over 40,000 apps specifically for Apple's iPad.
Apple said that it would give the 10 billionth person to download an app a $10,000 gift card to its iTunes store, which now offers movies and TV shows along with digital music files.
The company said that Gail Davis of Orpington, Kent, in the U.K. was the winner after she downloaded a free game app called Paper Glider.
